The Unite. Act. Engage. Campaign is VE Global’s annual fundraising campaign. Raised funds are used to support VE Global’s core educational programs, global citizenship training, and awareness-raising events.
The purpose of the VE Global Unite. Act. Engage. Campaign is to unite the VE Global international network to act for the educational opportunity and rights of at-risk children in Chile by engaging their own communities to raise funds for and increase awareness of VE Global.
Our primary goal is to engage 40% of our VE Global community in raising funds for and awareness of VE Global in their communities. Our secondary goal is to raise funds towards our $100,000 USD/year fundraising goal.
VE Global is an international not for profit organization that recruits, trains and engages global citizens world-wide to come to Santiago, Chile and provide educational support to at-risk children in our partner institutions. In their daily activities at the institutions, volunteers are given a greater awareness of the needs of at-risk children in Chile. Our partner institutions include schools, community centers and orphanages in the Santiago Metropolitan area. In addition to their work with the children, volunteers are expected to play an active support role to the institutions staff. VE Global is founded on the principal of global citizenship and prepares the volunteers to continue the advocacy of children’s education and rights, and volunteer work in both the local and the international community.
Core Curriculum:
¡Vamos a Leer!: VE Global’s pioneer literacy program leverages the enthusiasm of VE’s volunteers to promote and encourage reading. During the summer months when school is out of session, volunteers work with the children to establish reading goals for those who already can read and by reading to the younger children who have not received much exposure to books.

English: Thanks to the support of Fundación Oportunidad Educacionál, VE Global has recently gained access to an innovative and government approved curriculum to teach English to children in pre-kindergarten to fifth grade. By the beginning of November, a pilot program will be launched in one of our partner institutions. With a credible curriculum, volunteers will learn an accepted teaching methodology and the children will receive a consistent curriculum throughout the year.
Acceso al Futuro: With a focus on both the installation of computer labs and the teaching of basic computer skills, Acceso al Futuro is in its first phase of implementation having installed 3 computer labs in the 13 partner institutions that VE Global works with. Phase two will focus on the development of a technical curriculum that will introduce children to the rapidly developing world of computers and technology. Festival de Arte: Held twice a year, our Festival de Arte program encourages the children in our institutions to engage in the creation of art which is then presented at the festival. The festival is a gathering of the institutions in which VE Global partners with and includes a diverse variety of children. In the past, children have worked hard exploring different art forms such as singing, dancing, sculpture, painting, drawing, and sewing, all of which are shown at the festival.

Liga de Deportes: Our monthly sports program is popular with the children of all ages within the partner institutions with whom VE Global works. The event consists of a monthly ´day of sports´ which engages children in exercise, social interaction and teamwork while giving them an opportunity to have a structured activity to look forward to outside of their homes. Children look forward to Liga de Deportes where they play soccer, volleyball, and a variety of other sports.
